Green Labs Portugal

The “Green Labs Portugal Symposium: Promoting sustainability in Research”, taking place at the University of Coimbra on 22^nd of September of 2023, is the first event organized by the network of sustainable research laboratories in Portugal – GreenLabsPT.

With this event, GreenLabsPT aims to promote green practices in science and sustainability in scientific research activities, in order to reduce the environmental impact of research in Portugal.

The event will focus on the different aspects of what Green Labs are, the national and European network of Green Labs, the steps towards certification, sustainability in science, and how companies are reinventing themselves to provide services and help promote research laboratories with a smaller ecological footprint.

Our objective is to promote reflection on how to mitigate the environmental impact of scientific research without compromising the vital role of science and innovation in the progress of our society.

The future of more sustainable science is now and we want to be part of it!

Registration will be open until 14th September 2023 and the number of seats is limited.

Registration is mandatory for all participants including committee.

At least one author of each accepted abstract must be registered in the event.

Call for abstract submission for poster presentations will be open until 14th September 2023.

The abstract template must be filled and sent by email to symposium@greenlabs.pt.

At least one of the authors is required to attend the symposium to present the abstract.
